We celebrate birthdays to remind us of how long our bodies have lived in the physical world and is a good time for us to thank our bodies for serving the soul. After all the body is like a garment for the soul. It wears and tears until it is finally discarded for another well-suited body we have chosen for our next appearance in the playground of life. The soul is limitless and ageless. The soul is untouchable by the drama and dreams of the world. The soul quietly watches the dreams of the body as it sleeps and the dramas of the body while it is awake. It merely watches and experiences without judgment. So as we celebrate the birth of another year of growth and exploration, we take a moment to also give unconditional thanks for all the experiences of the past year, because all the experiences and all the years of our lives are cherished as perfect just as they are, in the infinitely colorful wardrobe of the ageless soul.
